As some of you may have heard… Instagram is making some major changes in 2019, but don’t worry… we are going to fill you in on everything you need to know!
There are dozens of posts out there, but let’s keep this simple for you.

IGTV + Insta Stories are going to be taking up your explore page.
#1: THE NEW INSTA STORIES CAMERA
Some of you might have already received this update, but Instagram will now include a semicircular mode switcher, making it easier to find creative tools! Create mode also allows users to create Stories without having to upload videos or photos first.
#2: CREATOR PROFILES
Many influencers are wondering whether or not to make the switch. The difference between a business account and a creator account is that creator accounts get access to in depth analytics and additional exclusive features. Creators have access to follow/unfollow data, and this makes it easier for the influencer to see if data is resonating with their audience or not. Cool, right?
You can even design the preferred method of contact. Email, DM, text, you know?
However, the downfall is that with a Creator account, you won’t be connected to Instagram’s API, which means you cannot schedule posts.
#3: DONATION STICKERS FOR INSTAGRAM STORIES
Who doesn’t love giving back? We all know that the donation feature on Facebook is killing it, so why not have that available on Instagram. Because Instagram Stories are seen more often than static posts, Instagram is now allowing a donation sticker within Instagram Stories to raise money from the app!
Take a photo or video as you would for a regular Story, click the donations sticker and search through a list of non-profits! Once live, you can swipe up to see how much you have raised. Pretty dope, right?
#4: TAGGING A BRAND’S PRODUCT
Let’s talk about buying products from your favorite Instagram influencers directly from the app… that is what you will be able to do. Instagram is testing this new shopping tab. This shopping tab will allow you to click on the influencers photo to see what they are wearing and shop it!
You don’t even need to leave to Instagram app, so it’s super simple.
This feature is NOT available to everyone at the moment.
It is available to influencers, creators, athletes, authors and publishers.
Basically, the influencer can now act as a salesperson for the brand. Let’s keep it simple.
#5: CREATING YOUR OWN FACE FILTER
This shouldn’t come as a shock, but at this year’s F8 conference, it was announced that Facebook’s Spark AR Studio (the software that brands use to create Instagram Story filters) will soon be available for everyone.
This will allow you to be super creative, and so far, a major hit with Instagram users! For business owners, this is a great way to improve brand recognition and not to mention… super fun!
IGTV + INSTAGRAM STORIES ON EXPLORE PAGE
You might have already begun to see this update as well! When you go to your explore page, you can see that there are more IGTV videos and Instagram Stories beginning to show up. This means - GET ON IT NOW!
Instagram is going to be featuring your IGTV + Instagram Stories in the explore page.
You MUST consistently upload 3 video Stories/day and keep your IGTV content consistent and ON BRAND to be featured.
