That's right, IGTV will now be let you view horizontally recorded videos the way they were made to be viewed... full mini screen... not mini mini screen.


On their site, Instagram says, "In many ways, opening IGTV to more than just vertical videos is similar to when we opened Instagram to more than just square photos in 2015. It enabled creativity to flourish and engagement to rise – and we believe the same will happen again with IGTV."

But as we've said in the past, for Instagram it all boils down to one billions of little things.


According to Ad Age, advertising execs told them in April "that Instagram has been speaking to them about the potential of ads on IGTV."


Right now IGTV is not monetized and you'll notice, has no ads. And that's because not enough people are watching to justify ads. So, you can bet the push to IGTV will be real this coming year.

OUR SUGGESTION: Well, we think that you should get on IGTV ASAP. It’s going to come in HOT & we want you to be in on the excitement early! Try to do a few IGTV videos/week. They are easy to record, and we recommend creating 30 second to 2 minute videos!

  1. Did you know that you can post them to your Instagram Story with a link to watch ( even if you don’t have 10K followers )?

  2. Did you know that you can post them to your static feed to increase views?

Now you do and you heard it here first!

Video is where it is at, so get on board!

FUN TIP: Add a thumbnail that goes along with your brand, a title that goes along with the topic and include a few hashtags! It’s all about targeting.
